Who’s Sam?

Founder of When Belief Dies

My name is Sam and I am in my early 30’s. I live in the North of England, I am married and have two beautiful boys.

I was born into a Christian family and have classed myself as a Christian for most of my life. I have attended a pentecostal Bible college and have been involved with church leadership for a good few years.

In 2017, I started to have some serious doubts around my religious beliefs. Through the process of investigating my beliefs, I have been doing a lot of reading, listening and writing.

I stepped down from church leadership in Dec 2019.

This is a blog tracking my deconversion as openly and honestly as possible. I have been writing it for a while but only started publishing the posts on the 1st of January 2020.

If you want some of the back story, please check out ‘We glance back‘, ‘Who was my God?‘ and ‘Serve or Lie‘, or you can listen to the podcast.

I hope you will enjoy reading my story and please do subscribe so that you don’t miss any posts in the future.
